Invisible String

Invisible String

Invisible String is a capstone visual project that explores the quiet, often unseen connections that bind people together, through memory, emotion, or shared experience.

Inspired by the idea that we are all subtly linked, the project uses a limited color palette of red, ivory, black, and white, along with layered textures and thoughtful composition, to evoke a sense of intimacy and nostalgia. It invites viewers to reflect on the threads in their own lives. Every design decision was made to highlight the beauty in subtlety, capturing moments that feel both fragile and deeply rooted.

A few of my favorite spreads:

Untied

The first zine in the series explores inherited facial features and the stories they carry across generations. It reflects on beauty standards and celebrates the unique traits we’re born with, highlighting their cultural significance.

Crossover

The second zine explores the experience of navigating between two cultures, growing up with dual identities and learning to choose which to embrace in different situations.

Pull Through

The third zine explores shared experiences among friends, highlighting the journey toward fully embracing both cultures and finding strength in that duality.

Tied With A Bow

The fourth and final zine concludes with a love letter to those who passed down our culture, entrusting us to carry it forward and keep our heritage alive.
